2005
Ilgar Hajiyev creates the Akkord Group of Companies in Azerbaijan, soon to become Azerbaijan’s biggest and most successful construction business.
2006
The Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, Zakir Garalov, begins to take an interest in Akkord Group and exert pressure on Ilgar Hajiyev.
2008
Auditors from the US investment fund Kazimir value Akkord Group at $4 billion. Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Garalov increases pressure on Ilgar Hajiyev.
2010
OJSC Akkord Industry Construction Investment Corporation is formed by merging two companies owned by Mr. Hajiyev, Akkord Insaat Senaye OJSC and Yeni Insaat Konsaltingi.
2010 – 2011
OJSC Akkord issues its first set of bonds worth AZN 50 million ($29.4 million) to finance various industrial projects. Later in the year, Ilgar Hajiyev is forced to give up 75,5% of OJSC Akkord.
2012
Ilgar Hajiyev is forced to leave Azerbaijan and starts his first project in Russia. He establishes the project company Comfort Invest together with German and Isay Zakharyaev, God Nisanov’s relatives, to construct the residential complex Pirogovskaya Riviera. Ilgar Hajiyev owns 50% of the project company, having invested $42 million in the purchase of land in the village of Pirogovo, Moscow Region. The Zakharyaev brothers invest $31 million into the project.
2013
Akkord Group is now controlled by Ashraf Kamilov and Zakir Goralov, nominal owners on behalf of the Presidential Aliyev family. At the same time, Akkord Group’s net income for the year increases by 45.5%.
2014
Ilgar Hajiyev creates SDI Group in Moscow and starts construction of Akkord Smart Kvartal project.
2014
Ilgar Hajiyev is removed from the management of Comfort Invest by the Zakharyaev brothers. They appoint their own director.
2014
Ilgar Hajiyev is forced to give up his remaining 24,5% stake in OJSC Akkord in exchange for the sale of his property amounting to $50 million.
2016
The first stage of the Pirogovskaya Riviera project construction deadline is missed. Ilgar Hajiyev negotiates with God Nisanov to regain control of the project company and buys out the Zakharyayev brothers.
2016
Ilgar Hajiyev is forced to give up 50% for his share in the Akkord Smart Kvartal project to God Nisanov and 50% of Accord Spets Stroy to Albert Imanilov.
2017
SDI Group launches the VernadSky residential and commercial project together with God Nisanov. Ilgar Hajiyev owns 70% of residential and 50% of commercial acreage.
2017
Ilgar Hajiyev completes the first stage of construction of the Pirogovskaya Riviera project.
2018
God Nisanov appoints Albert Imanilov and Fleura Teplinskaya to supervise Ilgar Hajiyev's activities in the Pirogovskaya Riviera project.
2018
Ilgar Hajiyev attempts to sell a portion of his shares in VernadSky, but is blocked by Nisanov. Nisanov instructs Ilgar Hajiyev to transfer this stake in the project to the son of Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan. Ilgar Hajiyev refuses.
Early 2019
Ilgar Hajiyev is removed from Comfort Invest. Nisanov's representatives take over all management functions of the company. Losses from the non-completion of the project total $238 million.
19 January 2019
Ilgar Hajiyev leaves Russia fearing for his safety.
21 January 2019
The workers of VernadSky are denied access to the construction site by representatives of God Nisanov. The site is seized by the private security company Vityaz, owned by Nisanov.
25 January 2019
God Nisanov’s representatives raid SDI Group’s head office in Moscow.
26 January 2019
God Nisanov sends his relative, Vladislav Yusupov, to take control of SDI Group.
24 April 2019
Armed men together with the police enter the offices of SDI Group and close access to the company's corporate documents, company seals and electronic bank keys to the remaining employees loyal to Ilgar Hajiyev.
